A garden room and garage

A brief to replace an existing garage and introduce a large, flexible space that could be used for an office, storage, a garden room or short term holiday let.

The building will be fitted with drainage and a water supply to prepare it for a future conversion. EV charging is included in the design. Green roofs reduce the visual impact, manage rainwater and provide additional acoustic and thermal comfort. The ground floor will be constructed from masonry and concrete to retain the bank behind. The garage will be a lightweight timber frame structure. The site is within the UNESCO World Heritage Site and Widcombe Conservation Area.
